Mitch Altermatt to Step Down as UFC CEO, Will Lead Crystal Valley Cooperative

Over the past few years, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to serve as CEO of United Farmers Coop. It’s been an honor to work alongside a team that shows up every day with purpose, grit, and a deep commitment to the people we serve. Thanks to that dedication—and the support of a forward-thinking board—UFC has never been stronger. Together, we’ve built something that’s not only stable but positioned for long-term success.

From expanding services to investing in future-ready infrastructure, we’ve laid a foundation that’s built to last.

UFC is in a great place today, and that makes this next part a little easier to share. I’ve accepted the opportunity to lead Crystal Valley Cooperative as their next CEO—a new role that allows me to keep doing what I love: serving the cooperative system and the people who power it.

To our patrons—thank you for your continued loyalty and trust. Every decision we’ve made has been with you in mind. To the UFC board, thank you for your trust. And to the entire team—your hard work and heart are what keep this cooperative thriving.

While my role is changing, this isn’t goodbye. The cooperative system is strong because of the people who believe in it, and I look forward to staying connected and cheering UFC on as it continues to grow, evolve, and lead the way.

See you down the road.
